Father Benjamin Hembrom was born and raised in a village in north India. From a young age, Father Benjamin knew his calling to the priesthood while attending Catholic school when he was five years old. Father's motivation to become a priest was inspired by the good work done by his school’s religious sisters and priests.
Ordained May 18, 2009 as a Franciscan Friar, Third Order Regular of the St. Thomas Province, India (TOR) . After his Ordination, he was an assistant teacher and Hostel in charge at Kattibari Mission. He was transferred to St. Francis School as assistant teacher in 2010. In 2013 Fr. Benjamin made headmaster and Parish Priest in Babumahal Mission until 2017. He was then transferred to Shamli in Uttar Pradesh to be Vice -Principal and Parish priest. In July 2018 Father Benjamin was assigned to the Diocese of Fort Worth.
Upon his arrival in the Diocese of Fort Worth, Fr. Benjamin was appointed parochial vicar of Saint Thomas the Apostle and Holy Trinity Mission (now a Parish). On December 14, 2019 Father Benjamin was installed as Pastor of Saint Thomas the Apostle by Bishop Michael Olson.
