Fr. Mathew Kavipurayidam
Parish Priest

Fr. Mathew Kavipurayidam was raised in a strong Christian family in the state of Kerala in South India. His sister is a nun in India; several of his nieces are nuns, and two of his nephews are in the seminary.
Since September 15, 2014 Fr. Mathew Kavipurayidam, TOR assumed the position of Pastor. Fr. Mathew is a TOR Franciscan Friar from the Province of St. Thomas in India. He was born on July 6, 1949, at Ponkunnam in the State of Kerala in South India. After having completed his High School studies at the State High School in his home town, he joined the TOR Franciscan Fraternity in 1965 and went on to become a Missionary in North India. He studied Philosophy at St. Albert’s College, Ranchi and Theology at Papal Athenaeum in Pune and was ordained a Priest on October 18, 1975. He holds a Master’s degree in Theology. After his ordination to the Priesthood he got a Bachelor’s degree and later a Master’s degree in Political Science.

Fr. Benjamin Hembrom was ordained May 18, 2009. He can speak Santali, Hindi and English.
After his Ordination, he was an assistant teacher and Hostel in charge at Kattibari Mission. He was transferred to St. Francis School as assistant teacher 2010. In 2013 Fr. Benjamin made headmaster and Parish Priest in Babumahal Mission until 2017. He then transferred to Shamli in Uttar Pradesh to be Vice -Principal and Parish priest. He arrived in the USA on 24th of July 2018.
Fr. Benjamin was born on May 26, 1980 into a large family with 4 brothers and 5 sisters. One sister is a Nun in the congregation of Sisters of Bethany. His Parents are Simon Hembrom and Francisca Marandi.
He did his BA from Bangalore University and Bachelor of Philosophy (BPH) from Suvidya college Bangalore and another BTH from Vijnananilyam, Elluru, in Andhra Pradesh. He did his M.A from IGNOU, New Delhi.
